Is this something common?. I did not get any emails after that. Following is the relevant part of the email....

Current Status: Card production ordered.
On April 3, 2008, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register."
What else do you want Bro. Give 30 days time to USCIS to send your card. we, most of us, would me more satisfied just to see the magical words - Current Status: Card production ordered in our case status.
Regarding holding card in physically, have to wait some time. Which should not be more taxing than waiting to see the magical words.

Yes, you can keep EAD and H1 at same time..
As far as I know, you can keep H1 and EAD. However, you can only use one or the other for the same job with the same employer. In other words, if you use EAD (by submitting I-9 with the employer) then your H1 is automatically invalid. However, if you never file I-9 with the employer, you can keep EAD.
Some have also said that you can use your EAD for a second job (say part time consulting on the side), while still using your H1 for the original job. But I not sure about this part. So, please do not take my word on it without additional research.

I belong to Rest of world my category is EB-3 my ETA filed on 02 Jan 2002 and approved on feb 2004 my I-140 approved on april 2004.now my priority date has reached now I would like to ask How long will it take to for further procedure at the embassy and to sheduled my interview get my visa i m not living in USA can u tel me about my issue. I just talked with DOL representative, he was very supportive and he asked me to fill WH4 and fax it to them and said they will take immediate action on this.
I just have one more question, my employer has branch in CA and NJ both states so which address I should mention in WH4? as I think both states have diff. rules.

Yes, You should be able to find out a contact number and call them in advance with you appointment details handy and ask if your details in PIMS are uptodate with your current H1 extensions and stuff. This call would be free in india, but if you have appointment in CANADA, they do charge some money for that call to CANADA.

If they dont have your details inPIMS they would send your passport back by post and would askk you come after particular time when they have details and so on. So once you have your passport you can always fly with AP. This is the sole reason why people say to carry AP as back-up.

To the best of my knowledge you can not file for AOS while you are on TN . To process your green card you have to switch to your H1B from TN and start your green card as any other national i.e file for your Labor certification, I-140 and then i-485 .This process is same like any other national. All the best.

My apologies upfront if I am posting this in the wrong thread.
I am currently working on an H1B which expires in Jan 08. My question is regarding H1B extension beyond the 6yr limit. Is it possible to get an extension for my H1B (7.5 yrs completed) even after having filed my I-485 (I was able to file 485 in July of this year)?
As per my lawyer, if for some reason, my EAD renewal next year is delayed or the new card not delivered on time, I will not be allowed to work though I will not be illegal. Keeping this in mind, and also after reading numerous posts online, I got my HR to give the nod for the H1 renewal. My lawyer replied today saying that we cannot get an H1 extension as my 485 is filed and 140 cleared.
I was under the impression that I would be allowed to get the H1B renewed for another year. What are the rules / regulations on this. If someone can pls update me.

Hello,
My wife is out of the country right now and planning to return in 3 weeks. She left the country with both copies (we only received 2 copies) of AP that is valid until Sept 10th 2009. Unfortunately we don't have a photocopy of the AP document and she has misplaced the two copies she took along with her. How do we approach this situation. The doc's we do have handy are:
1- Original 485 Receipt Notice
2- Original AP filing Receipt Notice
3- Copy of AP approved screen from uscic. gov
4- Original previous AP
5- AP was issued by MSC
Any advice?
