If the cruise goes outside of US territorial waters, everyone on the ship needs to show eligibility to re-enter the US on return. This is true even if the ship does not make any port call in a non-US territory.
In your case it looks like the ship even makes a stop at BC. Irrespective of whether the ship makes the stop or whether you get out of it or not, the fact that it goes out of US waters is what matters.
So yes, you will have problems coming back if you go on this cruise.
You can however fly to Alaska and come back (like a domestic flight) without any problems, as long as it is a non-stop flight from the US to Alaska (no stops in Canada).

All,
Any successful H1 transfers these days, pls post your experience. All that required for a transfer was latest 3 payslips and I797. Is it still the same or have things changed these days ? Can someone pls share your experience.

What is your Receive Date? Priority Date?

the question is how can i file my own 485 when i don't have details about I140. Is there a way where by i can get this info. i need SRC number to file for my 485 and i am current. i am on EB2 , other country not India, China .

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) today announced that it has posted a revised Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Form I-485. In addition to a revised form, there are new filing locations. The changes are part of an overall effort to transition the intake of USCIS benefit forms from Service Centers to Lockbox facilities. Centralizing form and fee intake allows USCIS to provide the public more efficient and effective initial processing of applications and fees.

USCIS Service Centers will forward all Form I-485 applications to the appropriate Lockbox facility until March 29, 2010. USCIS will accept previous versions of Form I-485 until March 29, 2010. After March 29, 2010, USCIS will only accept the Form I-485 dated �12/03/09.�Any previous versions of the the form that are submitted will be rejected. After the transitional period, the Service Centers will return any incorrectly filed Form I-485 with instructions to send the application to the correct location.
At this time, applicants should not concurrently file Form I-485 with an Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker (Form I-140) at a USCIS Lockbox facility. Refer to the Form I-140 filing Instructions for information on how to file forms concurrently.

According to Interfoto the cheap memory cards doesn't fit too well physically and can damage the camera. Their service department report pins that are either broken or even forced into the camera itself.
In addition there has been problems with pictures disappearing when "the card crash".
Interfoto recommends Sandisk and Lexar, as well as Microdrives from IBM/Hitachi. (Interfoto is the Norwegian Lexar distributor btw)
Has anyone else heard something similar?

Guys,
I was coming to work and just heard a small advertizment about "All Things Considered" on NPR. The advt said like this -"There is so much debate is going on about illegal immigrants but there is little debate about Legal Immigration, that story later on today on 'All Things Considered'. "
Anyone has any idea? Not sure if they will be taking phone calls or its pre-recorded story but it will be good to have IV feature or at least IV agenda featured on NPR.

For those of you who have rotted in the BEC and USCIS..for many years..that has eventually denied you from being a citizen sooner..there are some posts in immigration.com I saw that talks about some kind of a campign to capture lost time...most of you will get GC soon..if you have wasted time..please look at a new campaign to recapture the lost time towards your citizenship

I am also in the same boat as you and my attorney has sent my Labor ETA 750 to DOL for changing the box 15. It is good to change it now at Labor stage as there is quite lot rejection at I140 stage if your degree is 3 years..so it is better to have it ammended at Labor stage.
I would say all those who are waiting on Labor with 3 Years degree should make sure that your Labor states that it a "combination" else you will be trouble.

I know this is irrelevant in a way but see it from a different angle for one moment. There is no other forum where you can get any information about these H1 employers who are playing games using retrogression. This is the only forum where most of the people on H1 are related to some desi consulting company and can share their experiences which would help other people who are in huge pain due to the unfair practices of their existing employers.
I would recommend the administrators to create a separate area on this forum where people can share these experiences and find genuine employers.

I believe filing CPT and working on CPT till EAD (if filed with 485) arrives in hand should not affect pending I-485 at all.
Can somebody else in this situation confirm this?

Some where I read that there is no fee for renewal of AP. I am a Jul 07 filer and am not sure about this. Further already applied last for Advance parole and travelled till it got expired last month. I am applying for a new one again. So just wanted to know if I need to pay the fees $305.
So my questions are:
Does the July 07 filers need to send the cheque for $305
Should we also include Biometric fee of $80?
And how much time is it taking these days for AP/

My application was received on July 3 at NSC. Till now, I haven't received any notices. I got the RNs by calling USCIS.
Now, I placed an expedite order on my EAD on Friday. They sent me a mail saying my app was received on Oct 10 and not July 3 (yeah right! if it was oct 10, why would you even accept it?). So I faxed them the fedex delivery signature confirmation. Today I see a LUD on my EAD app but nothing else has changed.
Can anyone shed some light on what might possibly going on here? I can probably wait for some more time to find out for sure but I am curious. Guys with approved EAD - did you see a LUD on your app before it was approved?
